Hi Wade, looking for info on Panajachel i came upon your posting and felt sooooooo relieved... it´s so nice to find another traveller who seems as antisocial as me!!! to make it worse, being a woman travelling on my own, i get the same stupid questions all the time and have to exercise all of my will to remain polite... looking forward to Panajachel, wish you a great journey. Hello Mireille,

Thanks for the reassurance that I am not the only misanthrope traveling out here. Where are you now? Panajachel is alright . .. it is one of those beautiful places that you just cannot blame excessive amounts of tourists for going to. I found it is interesting that the area next to the lake, where you can look out at three or four volcanoes is pretty low key. You can actually go there and keep to yourself. It is nice. I do not know why so many people stay in the shopping area . .. .all the junk is from China anyway haha.

Back in Antigua . ..good internet here. Trying to start writing this blog on my main site www.vagabondjourney.com . . .but I am making a mess of it haha.

Have fun,

Wade

Hello Nomadic Matt,

I take it that you are traveling from Europe, right? hmm, pack your own food as the grub on the Trans-Siberian is a little expensive. It is also a lot cheaper to take the local from Ulaanbaatar to the China border then going across and getting on a another train to Beijing on the other side. ... but I take it that you are probably buying one ticket for the whole go . .. so you probably will not want to do this.

Have fun!
